Shelby was again very wiped out today. They have decided to drop the sleeping aid. It was probably making her a little too drowsy during the day. She is also being weaned from one of her heart meds that is likely also contributing to her drowsiness. I was not with her during therapy today so I cannot comment on that but Corby said she was very tired in all of her therapies so she probably didn't get as much out of them as she could have. When I was with her this evening though she was very lucid and very Shelby-like. I told her that I talked to one of her friends today and he said that he knows she will make a full recovery too which Shelby mouthed "so do I." She is getting much better at mouthing and her voice seems to be coming along as well. There were several times this evening that Shelby tried to say something and I could tell what she was saying not just from her lips but some of the sound coming out. Her left fingers today were also out of the splint and they were more loose and she seemed to use them better than I have seen yet. Not too much else to report. It is likely the only therapy Shelby gets tomorrow will be speech at bedside. Until tomorrow keep praying for her speech and for her walking to come along.

Way to go Shelby with the talking, the optimism, and especially moving that left hand and fingers. When you completely recover you can arm wrestle your old lefty dad-in-law. I'm sure you'll win, too. We continue to follow your progress and smile at every new achievement and pray every day for walking and talking again soon. We love you.

Hi Shelby,we love you! Jenine, the boys and I are all so amazed at how incredibly strong you are. We're all praying for you and Matt, but Peanut and I say a special prayer every night for you. Keep working hard to get out of that hospital and keep trusting God to help you do it. I was thinking the other day about the cutting board I made you for Christmas, and I remembered your favorite bible verse that I wrote on it. Do you remember? Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord, "plans for welfare and not calamity to give you a future and a hope". Keep trusting that your Heavenly Father loves you, and that He has an incredible plan for your life and it's only good. Everything you've done so far, and that you and Matt continue to do through your your road to recovery glorifies Him. Matt, I've got to tell you that are an incredible man. You have been everything that God intended a husband to be. We thank God that Shelby has you in her life because we have you, too.
You both keep hanging on to each other, and keep working hard to get better, and we'll keep praying. We love you both so very much,

Thats what I want to hear! We all know you are going to recover fully. You have never let any challenge stop you from doing what you want, going where you want, or being what you want and this is just another challenge for you to meet.
