Today was not a very great day either. She continues to have trouble sleeping through the night and her right side is still very tight. She is going to be given a very mild muscle relaxer tonight. There is something different about this evening that I can't really describe but I get the feeling that she is more relaxed than she has been in a while so I think she may sleep very well tonight. She slept through her sessions of speech again today. I continue to hope that the next day will produce better results. When she is awake and aware she is doing much better with her speech it just seems that this is never when she actually has speech therapy. PT today went pretty well. They did some more posture exercises and she is really doing well holding herself up. Her afternoon PT session was spent stretching her neck. A lot of her sessions today were spent stretching out her various muscle groups to get her to relax. I really feel this has helped because I can see her relaxing her head back on her pillow and she seems to not be contracting her arms as much as she has been. If she can do well with speech the next couple of days her therapist said they may be able to try a swallow study to see if they can't upgrade her diet. Pray hard on this one. If she were able to start eating during the day she could stop being fed at night and would be able to lay flat at night and even lay on her stomach (her preferred method). I really feel this will help her a ton. Her scar is healing extremely well. Another week or so and she can start stretching her chest as well and doing some exercises in PT that should really help her progress. Until tomorrow keep praying that she starts sleeping better, and that she really starts making progress in Speech.

I am praying for both of you. All things work for good to those who believe. Some day we will know that good that these trying days have brought to you both. Love, Linda
